Gil-Ad

A quiet corner facing the eternal landscape of the Dead Sea

At the Lowest Place on Earth

At the lowest place on earth, facing the quiet landscape of the Dead Sea, we built "Gil-Ad". It began as a personal story of our own — born of a pain that has no words, yet it belongs to us all.

In Memory of the Heroes

This lookout is dedicated to the memory of the heroes of the "Swords of Iron" war who fell in battle through tragic errors of identification. They went out to fight for home with complete devotion, and in the inferno of October 7th and the fighting that followed, fate was cruel to them in the most painful way there is.

Only the Beginning

For now, the lookout is only the beginning. We want to expand it — to make it a worthy memorial site, a quiet corner where families and friends can be alone with their memory, and where all of Israel can come, breathe, and come to know the story of these heroes.

Only the Beginning

In Their Memory

The names of the heroes and their stories will be brought here in due time — together with the families, and with their consent

Today the lookout is reached on foot or by 4×4 off-road vehicle. It is a real dirt track — part of the experience of the place.
